Just a quick reminder that we're meeting at Au Bon Pain tomorrow at noon (yellow hallway with yellow walls) for a time of fellowship and catching up. Feel free to bring or buy your lunch and come find us at a table.

Update - Physician Spring Dinner
When: April 15

Greetings all!

We hope you all had restful spring breaks and a not-too-stressful week back to school. We realize it's been while since our last shindig, but we have a whole smorgasbord of events coming up in the next several weeks! Mark these days on your calender...

1. Fellowship Lunch THIS Thursday (3/29)!
Where: Au Bon Pain (bright yellow hallway, next to the computer store and copy center)
When: Thursday, 12-1pm

As suggested by you, we'll be having our first casual lunchtime fellowship. This is one of those rare weeks when 2nd years don't have to rush off to preceptor, so we can actually meet for lunch! First years, we know you have a test next Monday, but hey, ya gotta eat! Feel free to bring your lunch too as we grab a table in this newest addition to the med center cuisine.

2. Pre-Easter Brunch!
When: Saturday, April 7
Where: Location TBA, open to suggestions! More details to come next week.
Please RSVP

As the title implies, we'll be brunching the day before Easter to celebrate the resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ! So feel free to make plans with your family/friends for Easter Sunday, and we hope you can join us for the pre-celebration. If you want to attend church on Easter but are not sure where to go, we'll be more than happy to provide a ride for you. Contact Tiffany_Chi@urmc.rochester.edu or David_Paul@urmc.rochester.edu and we'll get you where you need to go.

3. Student-Physician Spring Dinner - Sunday, April 15
Time: 6pm
Where: Location TBA. More details to come.
Please RSVP

Instead of the usual Spring Physician Breakfast held in April, Dr. Morehouse and his wife are organizing a special dinner for students and Christian physicians from the greater Rochester community. We'll also be honoring the graduating 4th years. If you enjoyed the Missions Breakfast back in February, then you'll definitely want to be a part of this! Keep an eye out for emails from Dr. Morehouse in the coming weeks.

4. CMDA National Convention -  April 26-29
Who: Med students and residents from around the country
Where: Ridgecrest Conference Center - Asheville, North Carolina

As per Dr. Morehouse's previous email (included below), the Christian Medical and Dental Association (CMDA) is having its largest student convention ever starting on Thursday, April 26. Please let us know if you're interested in attending--and don't forget to register. All the details are below for your convenience. :)

We hope to see you many times in the next month! God bless!

I want to personally invite you to join me and hundreds of Christian students and doctors at this year's CMDA National Convention in Asheville, NC! We will gather for this incredible time of fellowship, learning, and growing together on April 26-29, 2012 at the beautiful Ridgecrest Conference Center.

This year will feature the largest Student and Resident Event in the history of CMDA! In addition to the robust schedule of encouraging, challenging, and stimulating sessions, there will be all kinds of student and resident focused events, including:

»  The 2nd Annual Meeting of the National Student Council
»  The LifeSkills Institute…Live!
»  Worship Around the Bonfire…complete with marshmallow roast!
»  Ultimate Frisbee Competition
»  And much more…

The connections you develop with other students and residents who follow Jesus Christ at this conference…will become colleagues and friends, often for the rest of your life! I have personally experienced (and continue to hear from other students and docs) how impacting this time is as you develop as a Christian doctor…rubbing shoulders with those who have committed to make their practice their ministry.

The world class speakers at our plenary sessions…the special events designed to encourage your growth as a Christian student or resident…and the relationships that develop…just a few reasons to make the investment of time, energy, and finances to join us at this year's CMDA National Convention!

Webinar "Praying with Patients" on March 18 + Happy Spring Break!

Hi everyone,

On this eve before spring break, we want to wish you well and let you know that you are in our thoughts and prayers. For those of us who have exams, do not stress out or worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself--especially you MTCers (everyone will pass!). Whether you're staying close by or traveling far away, we pray that you will have a restful and rejuvenating week.

AND some announcements....

1. There's a CMDA (Christian Medical and Dental Association) webinar taking place on Sun. March 18 at 8:30pm about Praying with Patients. Check out the email below for details and how to register.

2. Keep an eye out for details about the student/physician dinner on April 15 to celebrate graduating 4th years.

Good luck on MTC/PCC tomorrow and have a blessed spring break!

And now we leave you with my all-time favorite verse....

Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

Praying with patients: the Why, the When,
and the How

Join us for a Webinar on March 18 [http://www.cmda.org/wcm/images/cmda/CampaignImages/Registration-button-with-scotts-photo.jpg] <https://www3.gotomeeting.com/register/125520702>

Have you ever wondered…is it okay to pray with patients in your role as a medical student or doctor? Should you offer to pray with them? Do patients even want you to address faith with them?

These are some of the most common questions asked of Christian students during their training. Join us on Sunday, March 18 at 8:30pm EST as we explore these questions about living your faith through your healthcare calling.

This live, interactive session hosted by CMDA's National Director of Campus Ministries, Dr. J. Scott Ries, will feature renowned Christian physician and expert on Faith in Medicine, Dr. Walt Larimore. You will have opportunity to not only learn from practical advice and experience, but to ask specific questions about making your practice your ministry and praying with patients as we dive into this topic together.

Be sure to register early, as space is limited! Consider gathering with a group of your CMDA student friends to view the webinar and then dialogue about it upon the conclusion of the time together.

We hope to see you there!
