Hello everyone!!

Tonight we will be having bible study at Andres' house downtown at 6:00 pm.  His address is: 86 S Union St. Apt.213, Rochester, NY 14607.  If you have fold-able chairs/pillows that you can bring to sit on that would be awesome!

Below is a sign-up for hosting bible study.  If you are willing to host just respond to this email with the dates that work best for you.  Hyo and I will put together a schedule and email it out once we've heard from everyone.

Andres has offered to lead us during our bible studies this year!  If any of you are also interested in leading a session just let Hyo or I know.  Also be thinking about other things you would like to do in the group (worship nights, Christian concerts, service projects, etc.).  Hyo and I want this group to serve as a way to help us all grow in faith and are open to any and all suggestions on how we can help make that happen for all of you.

Here are a list of dates for hosting from now until December:

September: 21, 28
October: 5, 12, 19, 26
November: 2, 9, 16, 30
December: 7, 14, 21

Hope to see you all there!!

In Him,
Hyo and Jess

Ps - as Mike mentioned at our dinner, every Tuesday at 6:00 pm at the Interfaith Chapel (middle level) on the undergrad campus there is free dinner!!  It's close, a nice study break and a good way to spend some time in fellowship with other Christians. :)_______________________________________________

introducing myself and an invitation

Dear URMC Christian Fellowship,

I started working at URMC this summer and would like to introduce myself and also invite you to a local Christian healthcare conference coming up in a couple weeks.

I am a Christian with a long term interest in faith and health.  After graduating from Houghton College I worked at U of R doing lab (animal) research for neonatology.  At the same time I studied in Community and Preventive Medicine toward an MPH degree and participated in a church planting team.  Have done various jobs in healthcare data & research and most recently was graduate admissions coordinator for the Nursing Dept at Roberts Wesleyan College.  Now I am back in neonatology, coordinating clinical studies and thankful to be working with people instead of animals this time. J

I am glad URMCCF exists, look forward to meeting others in the group and will seek opportunities to be involved!

Participation in global health ministry was my goal for earning the MPH.  Finally this summer I had the opportunity to go on a short term medical/health mission in Rwanda.  For those interested in that type of work, I invite you to a

Christian medical/healthcare conference on Sept 21-23 focused on

Healing Ministry Through the Majority World Church

see attached flyer

It is sponsored by the Free Methodist Healthcare Fellowship and will be held at Roberts Wesleyan College.  Friday night (Sept 21, 7 pm) and Sat morning (Sept 22 9am-1pm) are free.  Contact me if you have any questions, or to register contact Brenda Mutton at 594-6686 or mutton_brenda@roberts.eduPlease join us!

With prayers for you and for God’s work at URMC,

Jennifer Becker
